We enjoyed meeting many of you on Family Day! It is always a pleasure to welcome visitors to campus and to get to know our students better through their family and friends. What a wonderful end to a busy month of October! The month of November kicked off in a special way with the Mass of Remembrance on All Souls’ Day, November 2. We welcomed many alumni to our student Mass that evening, where we remembered and prayed for friends and loved ones who have died in the past year.
As students enter the home stretch of the semester, the Campus Ministry Office is offering many opportunities to de-stress before the rush of finals and the holidays. On Friday, November 21, we will have a Labyrinth set up all day on campus in Hilary’s. Members of the Bellarmine community are invited to take a prayer walk and have a moment of meditation in their busy day. The Saint John’s Bible, which is visiting Bellarmine this year, continues to be a focal point on campus. The Gospels and Book of Acts will be on display in the Chapel following Mass on Sunday, November 23. From November 30-December 2, we will offer a “busy person’s retreat,” which is prayer, reflection, and time away woven into the already busy day of the typical student. This was a very popular event last year, and we look forward to many participants again this semester. As the season of Advent approaches, we are partnering with the Music Department to offer a Service of Lessons and Carols on Tuesday, December 2 during free period. In a similar vein, we invite students to give back to the community by joining us at Audubon Hospital for Christmas caroling on Thursday, December 4. We hope that your son or daughter will take advantage of some of these opportunities and find time to nurture their spiritual side this holiday season!
