New Advisor Day, which will be held on February 26, 2015, marks Bellarmine first-year students’ official transition to an advisor in their major. At the event, students have the opportunity to connect with their departments and meet their advisors. Undecided freshmen will have the opportunity to explore one major of interest or speak with an ARC advisor. Undecided students are advised by an ARC staff member until they declare a major.
Topics each department will address in the New Advisor Day meeting are:
- Major Requirements for fall (if appropriate, distribute a copy of the major program of studies from catalog)
- Admission requirements for the major if any (e.g. Nursing, Education)
- Number of electives within the major (e.g. 24 hours of electives)
- Opportunity for an additional minor/double major and ways to determine choosing an additional minor or second major
Encourage your student to attend this event and get connected with his or her major!
